All about Susie Truby (owner) and Cornelia Truby (Susie's right hand & sister-in-law!) and Susie's mother Ann (who started it all!)

   

Susie Truby (in the photo to the right) has now owned and operated the school for over 20 years, and has taught with her mom Ann for over 37 years now! Susie wishes she could teach all of the classes, but can't do that and run the school. Even though she's not in the pool, you'll find her there overseeing the classes, talking to the parent's or just poolside because she loves to see how each child is doing and somehow she knows all the kids name! Today the school employs at least 12 or more teachers and/or assistants. Over 100 children come in every day for lessons. There are 10 classes a day in the summer and in the fall the school offers maintenance classes a few times a week.

  "We wish we could accomodate even more children" says Susie. There is a tremendous demand for the classes. Parents call months in advance to reserve a spot for the peak summer months. The classes fill up quickly. The school has never advertised, it has all been by word of mouth. Which in it self says a lot about the school.

Ann Truby, who is supposed to be retired (well from the running of the business), but you can't keep her out of the pool! She still teaches many of the late afternoon classes!

Cornelia Truby, has been with Susie now for many many years. Not only is Cornelia a wonderful swimming teacher, she also runs the registration, among so many other things. So, combined with the expert attention of Susie, Cornelia, Ann-Sofi, other family members and staff, the children have great fun and they become comfortable with the water and most important, they become pool safe.
