Anns Swimming School - Maintenance Programwill start in Sept-Dec Please make sure to read how these classes work, the policies and all the information about them!! The cost of the classes and the schedule are at the bottem of the page, but please make sure to read the page first! To participate in our maintenance program your kids will have to have taken a full two week session during our 2022 season! We're sorry, but no new students who have never been to our school! They will have to wait until 2023 The maintenance classes are only open from Sept thru mid to late December. We will hold maintenance classes September -December and as long as the weather permits! These classes are a great way for your children to practice and continue to improve and advance the swimming skills they learned during the 2 week session they took this year and a nice outdoor activity for them after being in school all day! If you ask the parents of kids who have taken the maintenance classes, you'll find they see their kids progress and become great or better little swimmers much quicker than just taking a session and then nothing until coming the next summer. As with anything, the more you do and practice, the better you will be at whatever it is you're doing! How Maintenance Classes Work You may choose to come once a week or up to 4 or maybe even 5 times a week! So,however many times a week you choose,as the saying goes "anything is better than nothing"! The number of times will be up to you and your schedule. You do not have to keep the same schedule the whole time we have the maintenance classes either. For example, if you start out with twice a week, then find later you would only like to come just once a week, that's okay! And you do not have to commit to taking the classes from August until we close in December, you may take them when and as long as you can and would like.There will be a certain time frame/duration that you will have to complete your pre-paid classes. Meaning,you cannot begin the 1st class in early September and then not take the next one until November! Also,if you only sign-up for say, 5 classes, when those are completed and you decide you want to do more, you might not be able to do those same days or class times if we have other kids wanting those same days and times after your 5 classes are done! So, please keep this in mind!!Then towards the end of October you will not have to pre-pay as many classes,but you will have to pre-pay for at least a few classes. In Nov and Dec you may pay by the class.Also, if you find that after you've completed your 1st pre-paid classes and then you want or need to take a break for awhile, starting up again at a later date, we cannot just verbably hold those spots for you, you will have to pre-schedule and pre-pay a few of them to secure the date you want to start again.***So keep in mind, that after you've done a set of classes in Sept, yet you don't decide if you're going to continue or not, please don't get mad or upset with us if the days and class time you want are no longer available! (believe us, this has happened to us!)*** (and IF we do get a cold snap and we can't have class for a day or a week or so, we'll let you know and resume as soon as we can again!) What happens if your child is sick or not coming to class With our maintenance program; the reason why your kids won't be coming makes no difference, but the letting us know in advance does! If/when they're not coming we will just roll the payment over (meaning you will still have that pre-paid class) until you've used up your pre-paid classes. In other words, you won't need a make-up class. BUT!!! If you don't let us know they won't be coming at least 3 hours or more before their class (not the next day) you do lose that pre-paid class! If you have siblings in the same class and one of them is not coming, the child not coming will lose their class if we didn't know the 3 hours or more in advance or if you tell us at class time! We STILL need to know beforehand with siblings! We also do understand life and that there may be a time when you don't get the chance to notify us 3 hours or more, but if this happens, please still leave us a message the minute you can! I cannot stress enough, how important it is for us to know how many kids will be in a class! There are only a few of us working during maint. classes. Most have gone off to college or have another job, so if one of us is sick or can't be here, I have to try to find a replacement. Then, at class time kids just don't show up or we're left a message under the 3 hours beforehand policy and I've most likely spent most of the day (or days) trying to find another teacher and then end up not having to have done so! As you can imagine, that gets very frustrating! And you will lose your paid class if you do not call!!So, please! A simple 3 hours or more in advance phone call is all we ask!Thanks!Susie Weather Policy during Maintenance classesWe still cannot predict the weather, but during maintenance classes, if it does happen to be very bad weather (thunder and lightning) closer to your class time or it's been really bad the whole day, we do sometimes pre-cancel classes! So, on these types of days, we'll post a message on the swim phone letting you know if we're canceling or not. If it's only raining still plan on coming because we do swim in the rain, the pool is heated and its fun for the kids to swim in the rain!!When or if the weather starts to get cooler, we do still have classes because again, the pool is heated. We just keep the kids in the pool as much as possible. We won't have them standing out on the pool deck diving in this type of weather. We'll keep them in and going underneath the 87-90 degree pool water temperature as much as we can and we will keep their towels closer to the pool as well so they wrap up right awaywhen they get out or you're welcome to bring them a little robe instead and just have warm clothing for them to change into after class and they'll be okay!We hope to be able to swim until mid to late December, so we're trying to swim as much as possible! If we do get a really cold weather snap we may cancel for as long as it's too cold then resume again.And PLEASE do not call or text Cornelia on rainy weather days asking her if we're having class or not and asking to be called or texted back! Because again, we may not know the answer hours or sometimes even 10-15 minutes before class, so she won't know the answer either! We all know how our weather can change so quickly and we'll do our best to try to let you know before your class!! Tropical Storms and HurricanesIf we are ever expecting and waiting to see if we're getting a hurricane or tropical storm,yet the weather is still beautiful we will maybe still swim, but please call the school to see what message we've posted on the phone! 305-661-3820. If we've been put on Tropical Warning's,etc, or the weather is already very bad on your scheduled day and things just aren't looking so good, then we will for sure not be having classes, but will resume them when the threat or the weather clears up! ***If we ever do decide to swim in this type situation, but you decide not to come (even at the last minute) PLEASE STILL DON'T FORGET to let us know you're not coming!!!*** The cost of the classes The cost is $175 for 5 classes and $350 for 10 classes. You will need to pre-pay and choose one of these class amount options. After you have chosen your classes,left your message and either spoken to or recieved a message back from Cornelia confirming your chosen classes, you will then need to mail in or drop off the pre-payment for the classes right away! And our filled out and signed deposit form must be sent in with your payment! If we do not recieve your payment and form we will not be able to hold your kids spots!! No Exceptions with this!! We will not be able to hold your kids spots without payment! Maintenance Registration and what information to leave in your message(You'll find the schedule below this section)After you have chosen your dates,call 305-661-3820 and leave Cornelia a message (speaking clearly and not rattling off your info or phone number!) PLEASE! with this information:1. Your name and the best phone number to reach you (& please make sure to leave your number! & if we leave you a message, make sure to check your messages!)2. Your child/childrens names and their ages3. The days of the week you would like4. The dates that you would likeAfter we post the schedule, the deposit form will be changed to a maintenance form and we do need this form filled out,signed by you and on file here at the school! So, it will need to be filled out and mailed in with your payment. If you would like to drop off your payment and deposit form instead of mailing them, you may leave them in the red post box next to the front door (there will also be blank forms in the red box) as we check it often during the day. We have lots of kids swimming and need the filled out form, so DO NOT just mail a check without the form!! As always, one of the #1 most important things and as a courtesy please!!, is the letting us know in as much advance notice as possible if your kids won't be coming to their class!! Even if you haven't paid for the class yet or you've just finished your last paid class! Just 1 child not coming makes a difference for me with how many teachers I need to have here! And some days one of us may be sick, etc., so I scramble to find a replacement only to have, at class time, kids not showing-up and their parents didn't call to let us know! It's happened many times! A message on our phone is all we ask!With maintenance, the notifying us 3 hours or more before class still applies and you will lose the class if you don't let us know! We don't want you to lose your childrens class or classes! This applies to siblings as well! Telling us a sibling won't be swimming at class time will count as a no-show and they will not be eligible for a make-up!
